Arriving in New York by way of North Dakota, Brett (He/Him) grew up on a family farm a short drive from the Canadian border. As a multidisciplinary story teller, his work is most informed by a blend of Meisner Technique, Psychological Gesture, and First Folio Technique, by which he connects the immediacy of physical metaphor with contemporary audiences. Recently, Brett was a nominee for the Teacher of the Year Award at Stephens College. He is the recipient of multiple Regional KC/ACTF Meritorious Awards for his Direction, Choreography, and Ensemble Work. In 2017 he was a National Acting Fellow at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. Brett has served as Associate Artistic Director with both North Dakota Shakespeare and Minot State Summer Theatre. He holds an MFA in Acting from Western Illinois University ('17), an M.A. in Theatre Arts with a Thesis in Direction from the University of North Dakota ('14), and a B.A. in Theatre Arts from Minot State ('12). He is a member of AEA, SDC, IDC, and SAFD.
